Celebrating 50 Years of Fish Frying Range Production
Here at J.J. Blackburn & Co. this year we are celebrating our half century of the non-stop manufacture of BLACKBURN FISH FRYING RANGES. We are a third generation family run company which was founded in 1969 by Jesse Turner, daughter Pat, son-in law John Byrom, and now following in their footsteps the current proprietors granddaughter Gill Byrom with her husband Charles.
With Jesse's knowledge of the fish frying trade dating back to the 1950's, John and Charles' engineering and design skills, Pat's organisational skills and Gill's lifetime experience of working in the family company has all helped to ensure that the company is enjoying continuity and retaining awareness of the practical requirements of their customers.
Our focus has always been twofold – firstly to manufacture 'BLACKBURN' ranges which are safe, efficient and easy to use, secondly to carry out business with integrity and honour.
Meeting the challenges of the 21st century
With the advances made to burners, insulation, electronic controls, etc. we have been able to utilise these technologies to develop the 'BLACKBURN' range with a 21st century performance whilst still maintaining our identity.
